Preschool students read books about trains including Freight Train, by Donald Crews, then made freight train headbands.
A special guest visited the Media Center!

WOW! John Archambault was Spectacular! THANKS to Maxey PTO for helping to pay for this visit. Students and staff were reminded to use their imaginations and READ and WRITE! John used rhyme and rhythm and clever anecdotes to enchant Maxey on September 30.
Greg Mortenson, Author of Three Cups of Tea, and Nobel Prize nominee, donated an autographed copy of each of his three books to the Maxey Media Center! It was an exciting surprise for Mrs. Christen when, upon meeting him on September 22, 2009, he handed her the gifts for Maxey!

Shelving Books and/or Cutting out Items
During the 2008-9 school year, the Maxey Media Center checked out 70,300 materials! This is the highest amount in our district. Our students and staff are committed to reading!
