Read Across America 2008!
On Monday, March 3rd, West Lincoln celebrated Dr. Seuss' Birthday with a Read Across America Celebration! We had guest readers from the Lincoln community visit and read their favorite books to us. We had drawings for prizes and each West Lincoln student got a free book THANKS to Lux Middle School! A big thank you goes out to our guest readers: Pat, Susan, Mary, Dave, Betty, Jacki and Scott. What a great celebration!

1st Grade Immigration
Our first graders learned about immigration in the classroom and then had the opportunity to "immigrate" themselves. Students visited stations where they went through the process of immigration and in the end got their pictures taken with the Statue of Liberty!

Model of Sputnik
Made by 4th grader Alex and his mentor, this is a model of Sputnik I, the world's first artificial satellite launced into space. Alex used Zome tools to crate this masterpiece! History changed on October 4, 1957, when the Soviet Union successfully launched Sputnik into space, and the space race began! Find out about Zome Tools.
